Our Mission

Clan MacIntyre Society, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) federally tax exempt non-profit corporation, incorporated in the State of Washington. We are a cultural and genealogical group of MacIntyre and Wright descendants who celebrate our Scottish heritage through numerous genealogical and educational seminars, Highland Games, and social gatherings with the purpose of experiencing Scottish heritage and culture. Clan MacIntyre Society encourages the preservation of the Scottish Arts such as Highland Dancing, Piping and Drumming, as well as athletics and tartan education.

Clan MacIntyre Society provides a forum for its members to:

Learn research techniques for family historians;
Promote and facilitate research in the MacIntyre/Wright families' histories in both the New World and Scotland through development of a local database;
Meet to share and promote our common MacIntyre/Wright heritage.
Encourage the increased knowledge and awareness of aspects of Scottish culture: the history, music, dance, literature, cooking and other aspects of Scottish heritage through lectures and presentations;
Interact with other clans, societies, and pipe and dance groups, for cultural and social activities;
Attend Scottish public events such as Highland Games and Festivals, Tartan Balls, Burns Night Dinners and other activities;
Promote and support philanthropic activities that will benefit the Scottish-American community as a whole;
Engage in other activities related to educate the public about Scottish history and the clans.

Society membership is open to all persons descended from, related by blood or marriage, to anyone bearing the name MacIntyre, Wright, or a recognized sept name. Your annual contribution includes invitations to all the Clan MacIntyre tents at Highland Games, MacIntyre gatherings, and a quarterly newsletter informing you of events of interest. We also provide special notices of genealogical seminars and tips for locating your ancestors.
